Where Do the Greenhouse Gases Come from?

 Greenhouse Gases

Greenhouse gases come from many different sources, some of man-made, some natural.  Of the man-made greenhouse gases, those emitted due to the activities of man, scientists have identified that the main causes are:
  •  Electricity and Heat 32%
  • Land Use Change and Forestry 24%
  • Transportation 17%
  • Manufacturing and Construction 13%
  • Other Fuel Combustion 10%
  • Industrial Processes 3%

If 32% of the greenhouse gases come from electricity and heat, then there is a chance that everybody can make a difference by switching off and not wasting energy. If public transport was used more then the transportation emissions would be reduced, and with protection of forests, there is a chance of less deforestation which means less carbon dioxide being omitted.Â
