Green Electricity

Green electricity means that there are certain forms of energy which do not cause impacts on the environment, for example, wind power, tidal power, solar power, hydro power and geothermal energy.

Probably one of the simplest things you can do to make an impact to your carbon footprint is to switch your energy supply to renewable electricity. However, first you need to consider the long term implications of changing your energy supply.

How green?

Not all green electricity is the same and some are more green than others. Depending on how the electricity is generated, it may be surprising to find that your CO2 emissions can actually be almost as much or maybe more than those typically found from your existing supplier.

How much?

Prices will generally vary depending on where you live, and when you enter in your contract. Ideally, you should research to ensure you get the best deal for your individual requirements.
